Summary

Highlight Mode is a shortcut tool available when viewing a document or transcript that allows users to quickly highlight and save a Note Tag applied to text, without the annotation dialogue showing or manually needing to save each highlight. Any highlights created will be saved in the Notes tab.

We've set out how to use Highlight Mode below.

More information on creating and managing Note Tags can be found here.

Using Highlight Mode

  1. Turning Highlight Mode On - When viewing a document or transcript, from the purple toolbar at the top of the page select the Pen icon to turn Highlight Mode on and the icon should update with the colour of the tag being applied.
    1. First Time Use - If you have not used to tool previously, the Select Tag window will appear, allowing you to select a Notes Tag to apply as the highlight.
    2. Regular Use - If you have used the tool previously, the last tag used will be selected. You can change this selection by pressing the dropdown, either from one of the five recently used or using the Select Tag option.

Within the ‘Select Tag’ window, press Manage Tags to create new tags or manage existing tags.
  2. Applying a Highlight - Select the text / area required. A highlight should be applied and automatically saved. You can repeat the highlighting multiple times or change the tag to be applied via the dropdown.
  3. Turning Highlight Mode Off - Highlight Mode can be turned off by toggling the pen icon and the icon should change to the default white.
You will need to turn Highlight Mode on after refreshing the page or navigating to a different document.
