Summary
Opus are able to assist with producing hard copies of the documents uploaded to the Hearing Bundle and the Solution Operations team would need to receive a populated Print Request form alongside the other required material in order to do so.
Select the Excel icon to download the Print Request Form template.
We've set out below how to instruct Opus and the basis in which the hard copies can be produced.
Instructing Opus
In order for Opus to assist with hard copy printing, we will need to be provided with an email request attaching the following:
- Print Request Form - The Excel form will detail the instructions and specifications, which will need to be completed and provided. We cannot accept instructions outside of the form.
- Template Cover - Word document with a template cover sheet. Opus will populate the relevant information per folder and will scale the cover to fit the spines and inside labels for each leaver arch file, with wire bound requests only including a cover, not spines and labels.
The estimated turnaround time of any requests and our ability to facilitate any jobs will be dependent on the following:
- Request Size - Size of the request in terms of the page count per set and number of sets required.
- Team Capacity - Our capacity at the time we receive the form.
- Delivery Location - The location of the recipient(s) noting that deliveries outside of London may take longer to reach their destination depending on the delivery option chosen by the parties.
- Unforeseen Technical Issues - Any technical issues with the documents that may impact either us or our printing partners, affecting our ability to meet the deadline which we would of course keep the parties updated on.
We are able to provide a cost estimate (and / or our Rates Guide) and an estimated delivery time upon request.
Basis of Production
| Costs | - Minimum Charge - Print requests are subject to a minimum charge of £100.
- Document Collation Charges - Any additional work required to collate / organise documents prior to printing (i.e. an instruction to print “documents referred to in the witness statement of X”) will be charged at our hourly content management rate. The parties will need to approve the documents once collated, prior to us starting the printing process.
- Colour Printing - Only pages printed with colour will be charged at colour rates. Any pages in a colour print that are entirely black & white will be charged accordingly.
- Cost Estimates - Cost estimates for hard copy requests can be provided by the Solution Operations team upon request.
|
| Documents | - Native Documents - Underlying native documents will not be printed, only the single-page slip-sheet visible on the platform will be included.
- Pagination - The pagination applied on the platform will be included on the hard copy documents.
- Hyperlink Overlay - If the Hyperlink Overlay tool is enabled in your workspace, it will not be included on the hardcopies by default and will need to be explicitly requested if required.
|
| Materials | - Folders - Bundles / documents can be provided in lever arch folders (black by default), wire bound volumes or loose-leaf. The choice should be specified in the relevant section of the form.
- Covers / Spines - A template cover should be provided with all print request forms. Opus will scale the cover to fit the spines and inside labels for each lever arch file, with wire bound requests only including a cover, not spines and labels. No templates are required for loose-leaf deliveries. Opus will populate the templates with the bundle, tab (or document number) and volume information.
|
| Process | - Turn Around Times - The ETA and our ability to facilitate instructions will be dependent on the size of the request in terms of the page count per set and the number of sets required, as well as our capacity when we receive the form.
- Ongoing Changes to Bundles - Requests will be processed at the point the finalised form is received, and we will be unable to add additional documents during the process. A new form will need to be provided for any additions.
- Volumising - As standard, single-sided requests are volumised based on 300-pages per folder and double-sided requests are 600-faces per folder in line with the Court’s requirements (accounting for any dividers).
- Double Sided Printing - Double sided prints will be exported on a document-by-document basis, meaning any documents with an odd page-count will have a blank page on the reverse of the last sheet of paper.
- Oversized Documents - If a document in too large to fit in one folder, it will be split across multiple as necessary.
- Indices - An index listing the contents of each volume is included at the front of each folder by default.
- Volumised Bundle Values - Where applicable, the request form should indicate whether the documents are i) to be volumised based on exact bundle values (i.e. A1, A2, A3) or ii) the overall bundle value (i.e. A1 and A2 included in volume A and volumised based on number of pages only).
|
| Deliveries | - Contact Name - Contact names should be provided for all deliveries alongside Firm / Chambers names as necessary.
- Residential Deliveries - All deliveries to residential addresses will require a telephone number to enable couriers to contact the recipient at their property.
- Outside London - Deliveries outside of London may take longer to reach their destination depending on the delivery option chosen by the parties and will impact the ETA of any requests.
