Summary 

Opus are able to assist with creating bundles of the documents referred to during proceedings for the purposes of EPE, allowing the parties and Judge / Tribunal to review or export key documents from one centralised location. 

We've set out the three types of bundles we can assist with creating which have been set out below. 

The three bundles are our standard offering, being efficient and optimal for use on the platform based on our experience. If there are additional requirements, contact the Solution Operations team to discuss.  

Standard Daily Bundle 

A - Process 

  1. A parent folder titled Documents Referred to During Proceedings will sit on the top-level of the platform, with a sub-folder created for each day i.e., Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 etc.
  1. Custom bundle versions of the documents referred to each day will be added to the individual sub-folders on the following basis:
    1. De-Duplicated Documents - The documents will only be added once, regardless of how many times it has been referred to that day. 
    2. Full Documents Added - The files will be added in full and not the specific pages that are referenced.
    3. Add via Transcript References - The exercise will be carried out based on the hyperlinks that have been created in the transcript therefore any references that have not been linked will not be included.
    4. Sort Order - The documents added to the bundle will be ordered by their Bundle/Tab values. 
    5. Timings - The Bundle will be processed by 11am the following day on the basis there are no issues.
    6. Email Update - Confirmation when the bundle has been finalised will be sent to an agreed distribution list that would be provided by the parties.

B - Cost

  1. Charged at £120 per sitting day and would be split between the parties in accordance with the standard matter cost split unless we are instructed otherwise.

C - Requirements from the Parties

  1. A joint instructional email with all parties in copy to the Solution Operations team. A standing order will then be set up for the request. 
  2. The email addresses of the individuals who should be included in the confirmation email referred to in A2f above.
Users are able to create Standard Daily Bundles, being available within their party specific workpsace only. 

To do so, create the custom bundle structures, populate the relevant sub-folder using the Add to Bundle tool on the hyperlinked transcript and then sort the custom bundle folder.

De-duplicated Daily Bundle

A - Process

  1. The process is the same as the Standard Daily Bundle however, each day will be de-duplicated against the previous days meaning the documents should only appear once in the overall structure once. 

B - Cost

  1. Charged at £200 per sitting day and would be split between the parties in accordance with the standard matter cost split unless we are instructed otherwise.

C - Requirements from the Parties

  1. Same requirements as the Standard Daily Bundle.

Witness Examination Bundles

A - Process

  1. A parent folder titled Witness Examination Bundles will sit on the top-level of the platform, with a sub-folder created for each witness and / or expert who are cross examined during proceedings. 
    1. Multiple Day Evidence - If an individual is giving evidence over multiple days, further sub-folders for each day of evidence will be created:

  1. Custom bundle versions of the documents referred to during each cross examination will be added to the respective individual's sub-folder on the following basis:
    1. De-duplicated Documents - The documents will only be added once, regardless of how many times it has been referred to during the cross examination. 
    2. Full Documents Added - The files will be added in full and not the specific pages that are referenced.
    3. Add via EPE Report - The exercise will be carried out based on the documents presented during the hearing, extracted from a report generator by the EPE Operator so any documents requested and displayed in error will be included.  
    4. Sort Order - The documents added to the bundle will be ordered by their Bundle/Tab values. 
    5. Timings - Each bundle will be processed shortly after the report has been received from the EPE Operator. 

B - Cost

  1. Charged at £150 per witness and would be split between the parties in accordance with the standard matter cost split unless we are instructed otherwise.

C - Requirement from the Parties

  1. A joint instructional email with all parties in copy, to the Solution Operations team. A standing order will then be set up for the request.
